Mary Ruth Leedy, age 90, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Four Winds Community in Jackson, Ohio. She was born June 3, 1926 in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Robert Spencer Stansberry and Lenos Alberta Gwinn Stansberry.

Ruth retired from Jackson Corporation, where she was employed for several years. She was a former member of the Winchester United Methodist Church and the Wellston Senior Citizens.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Charles Robert “Bob” Leedy of Columbus and Stephen Richard “Steve” Leedy, Jr. (Debbie) of Jackson; step-grandsons, Ben Deutschle (Chris) and Jon Deutschle (Taylor), both of Columbus; step-great-grandchildren, Sage, Mae, Sebastian, Lucas and Sarah; sisters, Kay Whitaker (Wallace), Betty Garling and Sue Craft, all of Indiana; brother, George Mack Stansberry (Janice) of Indiana, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Richard “Dick” Leedy; sisters, Eileen “Dean” Whitaker and Julie Jane Cole; and brothers, Robert “Buster” Stansberry, Jack Stansberry, I.V. Stansberry and Roy Stansberry.

In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, her body was cremated. Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Fairmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ruth’s memory can be made to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
