Mary Joann McCoy

Mary Joann McCoy, age 77, of Jackson, Ohio passed away on January 3, 2018 at 11:35am surrounded by family. Joann was the daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Bierhup) Erwin.

Born on November 7, 1940, Joann was a graduate of Jackson High School. She was a former softball coach, 4-H advisor, and member of the Vega United Methodist Church where she taught many Sunday School and Bible School classes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers Jimmy, Jack, and Billy, and her husband Johnny McCoy.

She is survived by her sister Roslyn McCoy, of Oak Hill, Ohio; children, John (Kathy) McCoy, of Jackson, Ohio, Joanna (Rick) Miller, of Oak Hill, Ohio; grandchildren, Vanessa (Drew) Hoy, of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, Jonda (Chris) Bonine, of Jackson, Ohio, Stephanie (Nathan) Potts, of Jackson, Ohio, Stevie (Michelle) Howell, of Vinton, Ohio, Carolynn Snyder of McArthur, Ohio and John (Terra) McCoy, of Jackson, Ohio. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Shayla, Max, Ellie, Kyndal, Adalyn, Ronan and Gracie and many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Friends may call Friday, January 5, 2018 from 2-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor John Rozewicz officiating. Burial will follow in Winchester Cemetery in Bloomfield township.
