Marian Jo Leslie, age 92, of Oak Hill, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 27, 2018. She was born on March 11, 1926 in Hopkins County, Texas to the late Robert Newell Wheeler and Iris (Simms) Wheeler. She was married to Wilbert Leslie who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her sister, Margaret Jean Clawson of Texas.
She is survived by two nephews: Dean Lewis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Steve (Kathy) Clawson of Royce City, Texas, and two nieces: Vicki (Jim) Palmer of Temple Texas and Kathy (David) Wise of Round Rock, Texas. Jo also leaves behind some great friends: Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wyant and family, Mr. and Mrs. Randy Spohn and Peggy Arbaugh.
Jo was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Jackson, Ohio. She loved to play the piano at church and also liked sewing.
Funeral services will held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Dobie Wyant officiating. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill. The family will receive friends at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Monday, April 30 from 5 to 9 p.m. Arrangements are by the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson.
