Louella M. (Phillips) Jones

Louella M. (Phillips) Jones, age 90, went home to be with her Lord on Nov. 17, 2018, at her home surrounded by her daughters. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Louella was born on July 12, 1928 in New Boston, Ohio to Blanche (Finn) and Melvin Phillips. She was married to the late Gerald “Buddy” Jones, her husband of 62 years.

Buddy and Lou owned and operated The Sinclair Truck Stop and Restaurant. Louella was well known to many from her years at Stiffler’s and Andrea’s Bridal Shop, from which she retired.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Mothers Guild.

She is survived by four daughters: Jeri (Jim) Allie of Gallipolis, Ohio, Cindy Stewart, Julie (Greg) Fannin, and Jody (Jerry) Mullins, all of Jackson, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Bush of Columbus, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Loretta (Tom) Jones and brother-in-law, Eddie (Jayne) Jones, all of Jackson, Ohio; dear friend and caregiver, Linda Spencer; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her husband and parents, Louella was preceded in death by her sisters, Donna Jean Phillips and Mona Jane Reynolds; brothers-in-law: Jack Jones, John Reynolds, and Willis Bush; son–in-law, Jerry Stewart; grandson, Michael McCormick; and granddaughter, Kate McCormick Blosser.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Jerry Mullins, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 124 Locust St., Jackson, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
