Kenneth Ray Miller, Sr.

Kenneth Ray Miller, Sr. (“Dinky”), age 73, of Jackson, passed away suddenly on Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.  He was born Jan. 28, 1946 in Boone Co. West Virginia to the late Bethel and Martha (Jarrell) Miller. 

He is survived by the love of his life of 55 years, Marie Miller, of Jackson; daughter, Kimberly Miller; four sons, Kenneth Miller, Jr., Kyle Miller, Gregory Miller and Matthew Miller; grandchildren, Kenneth Miller III, Logan Miller, Morgan Miller and Josh Teasley; granddaughters, Kenle Miller and Courtney Miller; two great-granddaughters, Brittney and Skyla.  Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Gene and one sister, Susie and one very special niece, Pamela and one special nephew, Danny. 

Kenny served in the United States Army with the Green Beret stationed in Hawaii, also known as “Tropical Lightning”.  He then went on to serve in Vietnam.  He was a Baptist minister, he loved to sing and had a beautiful voice, singing at various churches. As hobbies, he loved hunting, fishing and target shooting with his children.  He enjoyed watching Cleveland Browns football, Cincinnati Reds baseball and muscle cars.  He watched western shows and movies, especially M.A.S.H. and anything with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. 

Friends may call Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson.  Military services will follow at the funeral home.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.  Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
