Kenneth E. Wood

Kenneth E. Wood age 53 of Wellston, Ohio went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2013 at home in the presence of his family. He was born in Ross County, Ohio October 25, 1959 to the late Rev. Ralph Wood and Viola Sheets Wood.

Kenny was a manager for McDonald’s for 33 years, serving the last 18 years as store manager for the McDonald’s of Wellston. He was loved by many in the community for his love, kindness and generosity he showed to all and was very honored to be chosen Grand Marshal of the 2011 Coal Festival.

On November 11, 2006, he married the love of his life, Rosie (Fannin) Wood, who survives him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Viola Wood of Jackson; two daughters, Meghann (Brown) Lowery of Jackson and Sarah Wood of Jackson; son, Larry (Grethel) Baker of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, Kenzie and Karleigh of Jackson; three brothers, Bob (Vivian) Wood of Lucasville, Tim (Geri) Wood of Richmond Dale and J.R. (Debbie) Wood of Florence, Kentucky; six step-children, Lisa (Chuck) Conrad of Tucson, Arizona, Gladys (Ted) Crum of Ironton, Ohio, Denver (Beverly) Vaughn of Greenup, Kentucky, Peggy (Adam) Rhoden of Garrison, Kentucky, Jimmy (Jessica) Vaughn of Grayson, Kentucky, and Mark (Elizabeth) Vaughn of Grayson, Kentucky; 12 step-grandchildren, Ryan, Wesley, Roseann, Austin, Chad, Chasity, Kelly, Andrew, Chloe, Mark, Dallas and Dalton; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Ralph Wood and a stillborn sister.

Friends may call Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Barry Benson officiating and burial to follow in the Little Mound Cemetery in Richmond Dale, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the “Kids and Big Kids for Kenny” fund at WesBanco, to help with final expenses.
