John Robert Waugh

John Robert Waugh of Athens Street in Jackson, passed away Dec. 6, 2018 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in Jackson on Aug. 28, 1942 to Chauncey Hogan Waugh and Margaret Jones Waugh who preceded him in death. He had seven brothers and four sisters.

Those preceding him in death include his parents; siblings, Gerald Waugh, William C. Waugh, Donald Waugh, Paul Waugh, Loretta Waugh, and Wayne Waugh. Surviving siblings are Mary Waugh Felsburg and Coralie Waugh of Dayton, Charles Fredrick Waugh (June), Daniel Waugh, and Ruth Waugh Bevins (Jim) of Jackson. He also leaves behind scores of nieces and nephews and his extended family at Am Vets.

John was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran where he served for three terms. He was a member of AmVets Post 84 where he had many friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting mushrooms and ginseng. He was a great story teller who could “talk a lady bug out of her hairnet”. He will be missed by his family and friends.
