John E. Davis

John E. Davis, 68 of Oak Hill, lost his battle with cancer on June 26th, 2017. He was born November 9th, 1948 to the late Edward Earl Davis and Vergie Mae Angel Davis.

He worked for Buckeye Staffing in Columbus, Ohio for many years, John was a man of many talents and hobbies, he enjoyed spending time with family, mushroom hunting and loved to fish, his kids teasingly gave him the nickname of Bass Master.

Besides his parents John was preceded in death by his twin brother Tom, and brothers Stanley and David, two sisters Darla and Melissa and his grandson Scott Comer.

He is survived by his wife, Stella Mae (Gothard) Davis; four daughters: Annette Hatfield of Jackson, Carla Davis of Oak Hill, Chris (Bill) Davis of Oak Hill, Michele (Keith) Clark, of Jackson; one son Johnny Davis of Jackson; Five brothers Frank of Oak Hill, Eddie of Arizona, Bob of Columbus, and Morgan and Isaac; one sister Gloria Howell of Oak Hill. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Robert, Zack, Kyle, Josh, Jacquelyn, Morgan, Kortney, Austin, Kirsten, Travis and Whitney and 8 great grandchildren; a special niece and nephew Tammy and Scott, as well as many others.

Friends may call Friday June 30th, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Lewis Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday July 1st, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Allen Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in the C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill.
