John Arvel Booth, age 70, of Beaver, passed away on Aug. 9, 2019 at Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born in Jackson County on March 21, 1949 to the late Jay Hamilton Booth and Allie Eileen (Grover) Booth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Booth and his brother, Robert B. Booth.
John was a member of the local Amvets Post 84 and the VFW Post 8402. He loved fishing, smoking turkeys, gardening and riding his lawnmower up and down the road.
He is survived by his significant other, Barbara Clarkson; Raymond (Crystal Green) Clarkson, Sr.; daughter, Donna Sue (Kevin) Gastin; brothers, Jay Hamilton Booth, Jr. and Michael (Betty) A. Booth; sister, Brenda Edwards; grandchildren: Melissa Gastin, Raymond Clarkson and Brandon Clarkson; and great-grandchild, Thomas Lee Clarkson.
Funeral services were to be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019 at 5 p.m. with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating. Burial was to follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Family received friends at the funeral home from 3 p.m. up until the time of the service at 5 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson.
