Joan K. (Bamer) Joseph, age 81, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Four Winds in Jackson. She was born Jan. 12, 1938 in Lawrence County to the late John and Irene (Turvey) Bamer.
Joan graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1956 and married John C. Joseph in the fall of that same year. She later ran the Hillcrest Pool for several years in the late 60s. She enjoyed working in the family business at R&J Sales and Service in Jackson with her husband, John and her son, Randy. She loved spending time with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Bryan (Winda) Joseph, of Chillicothe, Randy (Andrea) Joseph, of Jackson and Jonda (Brad) Dunn, also of Jackson. Also surviving are her six grandchildren, Tammy Swisher, Nikki Willis, Mitchell Joseph, Joey Dixon, Kristen Shoemaker and Carly Joseph; brother, Mark (Debra) Bamer; six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John C. Joseph whom she married Sept. 1, 1956; siblings, Teddy Bamer, Geraldine Dalton and Jewell Woodrum.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Calling hours will also be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral following at 1 p.m. with Pastor Hannah Niday officiating. Burial will be held in Fairmount Cemetery.
