Jessie Lynn Jones, age 32, of Wellston, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 14, 2018 at home surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 25, 1985 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Donald W. Jones, Sr. and Grace E. Exline Jones.
Jessie was a 2004 graduate of Wellston High School and Buckeye Hills Career Center. She was a former employee of Bellisio Foods and was an active and avid member of American Legion Post 371 Ladies Auxiliary and V.F.W. Post 9092, both in Wellston. Jessie enjoyed hanging out with the girls and she was always the life of the party. Her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, sweet personality and heart of gold were just a few of the characteristics that made her beautiful both on the inside and outside.
Jessie is survived by her mother and step-father, Grace and Jorge Anido of Jackson; sister, Jennifer Jones of Wellston; brother, Donnie Jones of Wellston; step-sister, Maria Potts (Eric) of Circleville; step-brother, Jorge Anido, Jr. of Jackson; nieces and nephew, Amber Gilliland, Dillan Gilliland and Trinity Gracie Jones; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of special friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Jones, Sr.; and grandparents, William and Virginia Exline and George and Lola Jones.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
