Jerry Lee Conley

Jerry Lee Conley, age 67, of Wellston, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2019 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born Jan. 20, 1952 in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Jerry was a 1970 graduate of Wellston High School. He continued his education by attending Manpower Training Center in Jackson where he studied and became a draftsman. Jerry started his drafting career at McNally Pittsburg Manufacturing in Wellston and later moved to Tennessee and the Carolinas, where he continued working as a draftsman for 20 years. He then moved back to Wellston due to failing health and to be closer to his family. For several years, Jerry lived in a nursing home, but he still enjoyed going out to eat and taking long rides with his mother. He also enjoyed working word search puzzles and was an enthusiastic fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Jerry is survived by his mother, Juanita Knox Lockhart of Wellston; brothers, Bruce Conley (Charlotte) of Hamden, Marty Conley of St. Charles, Missouri, and Kenneth Lockhart of Wellston; sister, Debbie Yates (Dave) of Hilliard; aunt, Mildred Conley of Wellston; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Charles Conley; brother, Randy Conley; step-father, William “Buck” Lockhart; and grandparents, Sanford and Lula Knox, Irene Knox, and George and Bertha Conley.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Fulton and Pastor Rob Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in the Byer Cemetery.
