Jerry Klontz

Jerry Klontz, age 71, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 at Four Winds in Jackson. He was born Dec. 10, 1946 in Cedarville, Ohio to the late John and Lucille Klontz.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Canter) Klontz, of Jackson; children, David Lee (Catherine) Klontz, Jerry Allen (Claire) Klontz, and Jack Lane (Tara) Klontz; 12 grandchildren; step children, Joseph “Dan” Ruggles, Tara Beth Clayton and Terrie Elizabeth Beatty; 13 step grandchildren; special friend, Denny Armatrout; several great- grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is also survived by his three cats, Tommy, Chloe and Bones.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Glenna (Coon) Klontz; his siblings, Bobby, Ralph and Norma Jean.

Jerry graduated from The University of Rio Grande in computer drafting. He was a former Sunday school teacher at Buckeye Community Baptist Church. He loved woodworking and building. Jerry was a great inspiration at the nursing home, he always wore a hat that read “I love Jesus” and his faith never wavered.

Friends may call Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Friends may also call Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Rob Irvin officiating. Burial will follow in Buckeye Cemetery in Jackson.
