Jean C. Collins, age 87, of Wellston, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston, Ohio. She was born April 2, 1927 in Logan, WV to the late James Edward Cunningham, Sr. and Eliza McDaniel Cunningham.
Jean was a business college graduate, a homemaker and an avid bowler. She was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church in Wellston.
Jean is survived by one niece and two nephews, Pinky Houck of Forest, Va., Thomas Edward Napier of Hillsville, Va. and James Orville Napier of Chesapeake, Va., as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James W. Collins in 2012; sisters, Margaret McDaniel Reynolds, Elizabeth Ann Adams and Mary Frances Napier, and her brother, James Edward Cunningham, Jr.
At Jean’s request, there will be no services. Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park in Peaks Mill, WV by the McWilliams Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given in Jean’s name to the Hope United Methodist Church, 219 East First Street, Wellston, Ohio 45692.
