James Hughes Lloyd

James Hughes Lloyd of Oak Hill died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the Community Hospice of Ashland, KY at the age of 91. He was born January 23, 1922 and was the son of the late John O. and Elizabeth Edwards Lloyd.

Jim attended Oak Hill Schools, graduating in the class of 1939. He was a retired General Telephone Company employee, a member of the Oak Hill United Presbyterian Church, a trustee of the Oak Hill Public Library Board, and a trustee of the Moriah Cemetery Associations. Also, Jim was a World War II veteran, working as a P38 airplane mechanic. Jim was very proud to be Welsh and enjoyed many local and national Welsh activities.

James is survived by sons, James B. (Debbie) of Oak Hill and Thomas of Pickerington; daughter, Beth, of Oak Hill; grandsons, Ian, of Oak Hill, Colton and Cameron of Pickerington; and step-children, Ty (Zi) Marshall of China, Kaylin Marshall of Hamilton and Angela Marshall of Oak Hill.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 27 at the Moriah Church in Oak Hill with Rev. Linda Plummer officiating and interment at Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
