Jackie D. “Smiling Jack” Riley

Jackie D. “Smiling Jack” Riley, age 72, of Jackson, passed away Monday morning, July 17, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Jackson on Feb. 18, 1945 to the late Bill and Emma (Thompson) Riley.

He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Crystal (Mullins) Riley, of Jackson; son, Jackie (Donna) Riley, of Dayton; daughter, Crissie Honaker, of Jackson; and son, Shawn (Jobe) Riley, of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Beau Riley, Jack Honaker, Stephen Honaker, Evelyn Riley and Coraline Riley. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many, many friends.

Jack worked locally in the car business selling Fords for almost 50 years. He always had a joke and a smile for anyone he ran into. He was a die-hard Ironmen fan, he also loved his Buckeyes, Bengals and Reds. He loved his family and his country dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bill and son-in-law, John Honaker.

Friends may call Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church on Portsmouth Street in Jackson. A funeral will immediately follow at 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the convenience of the family at a later date.
