Helen Eileen Oney, age 98, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019 at Four Winds of Jackson. She was born Dec. 16, 1920 to the late Luther S. and Ethel S. (Darling) Davis.
Helen was a graduate of Jackson High School and spent her entire life in Jackson. She loved sports, and her favorite teams were The Ohio State Buckeyes football team and the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. She enjoyed watching her son, Bobby race as well as watching Nascar and golf on television with her son, Steve. She absolutely loved to dance and enjoyed spending time with her family. She had many friends, as she worked at the Care Center as a Grandma. She loved the job and being there for the kids. Helen’s greatest loves in her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Herrold; granddaughters: Kelly (Matt) Altiers, Kerrie (Shawn) Feller, and Kelly Ann Newell; great-grandchildren: Taya and Taryn Buxton, and Micah Feller; sister-in-law, Pat Willis; nieces and nephews: Cindy (John) Lloyd, Sandra (Jeffrey) Bacon, Devon (Kodee) Lloyd, Megan (Seth) McCormick, and Michael Lloyd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Oney; brothers, Robert Davis and Evan (Grace) Davis; sons: Steven Oney, Robert (Lana) Oney, and Daniel Oney; and nephews, John Herrold and Mike Davis.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, Aug. 19, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home, Jackson, with funeral services immediately following at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
