Helen E. “Dovie” (Coon) Yelley Prosser

Helen E. “Dovie” (Coon) Yelley Prosser, age 82, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017. She was born April 1, 1935 to the late Roy and Helen Coon, of Oak Hill.

Helen is survived by four beautiful daughters, Linda (Charlie) Fink, of New Lexington, Ohio, Diane (Mark) Logan, of Oak Hill, Bonnie (Willie) Bowling, of Mount Gilead and Lora (Jake) Saunders, of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Samantha Markim, Eric Salyers, Steve Criner Jr., Ryan Criner, Robert J. Yelley, Ashley Turner, Tiffany Saunders, Brian Allen, Lisa Malone, Robert E. Bowling, Justin Tucker and Rochelle Tucker; 20 great-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Helen is also survived by one sister, Estelene Cline, of Jacobsburg, Ohio and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, Guy Yelley; her late husband, Darel Prosser; one son, John Yelley; two grandsons, John Robert Salyers and Joshua Logan; one brother, Roy Coon Jr.; and two sisters, Jenny Mae Hutchinson and Betty Lou Shelton.

She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was very active and energetic. She loved spending time outdoors traveling and planting and tending to her flowers; she loved her yellow roses. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and lived life to the fullest. She was loved by many and she will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with Pastor Stan Howard officiating.
