Fred “Chub” Trepanier

Fred “Chub” Trepanier, age 80, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Four Winds Community of Jackson. He was born June 27, 1936 in Duluth, Minnesota to the late Leo and Florence Trepanier.

He attended school in Duluth and graduated high school in 1954. He worked for the companies of Chun King, R.J. Reynolds, Jeno’s Inc., and Pillsbury before retiring to co-found and operate A&A Truckstop of Jackson in 1991. He retired from A&A Truckstop in 2004 and enjoyed traveling with his wife and working on his farm until his health declined.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Clarabelle in 2014 and his brother, Joseph Trepanier.

He is survived by his children: Sally (Danny) Case, Steve (Tami) Trepanier, and Molly (Mike) Evans, all of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren whom he cherished: Derek (Jessica) Childers, Daniel Case, Jenna (Dan) Wagner, Steven Trepanier, Jarett and Reid Evans; also newly born great-granddaughter, Claire Isabelle Wagner; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Tom Castello of New Jersey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Sam Turck; sisters-in-law, Ruby Evans and Bonnie Moore; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Per his request, no calling hours will be observed. Private family services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 with burial to follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Flowers and condolences may be sent to the family at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home.
