Elbert Van Bentley

Elbert Van Bentley, age 71, of Jackson, passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Feb. 2, 1948 in Neon, Kentucky to Beulah (Wright) Bentley and the late Elbert Bentley.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Bentley; his sister, Nellene (Victor) Wyatt and his brothers, Tyrone Bentley and Frankie (Twila) Bentley. He loved to fish and spend time with his family.

Elbert is survived by his mother, Beulah (Wright) Bentley; his son, Randell Bentley; his daughter, Penny (Herb) Osborne; his siblings: Julia Haney, Teresa (Allen) Scurlock, Sheila (Bob) Kilgour, Vivian (Robert) Wood, Vida (Dale) Duhl, Jerry (Joyce) Bentley, Terry (Carla) Bentley, Colleen (Bruce) Dameron and Lee Roy (Beth) Bentley; his grandchildren: Gregory A. Rose, Kristina A. Collins, Brandon R. Collins and Jaiman Van Bentley; his great-grandchildren: Kaylee A. Bowman, Ethan A. Bowman and Myles J. Rose; and also several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Bruce Dameron officiating. Burial will follow at the Bentley Family Cemetery.
