Eena J. Adams passed peacefully at the age of 98 on August 19, 2016. She was born November 20, 1917 to Alfred and Nora Carlisle of Mt. Hope, Kansas. She and her sisters, Mary and Mildred were raised to be compassionate, determined, accomplished women and have passed those attributes down to future generations.

Eena is survived by her sister, Mary Carlisle Ardell; son-in-law, Mike Mitchell; grandchildren: Jenny (Rob) Gayheart, Mike McCarthy, Tara (Stacy) Munoz, and Marsha (Jason) Pierson. Known as “Grandma Ease” due to her generous abilities in the kitchen, she is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Cory Stamper, Craig (Hope) Gayheart, Travis and Casey McCarthy, Alissa and Antonia Munoz, and Emma, Elise, and Owen Pierson; as well as great-great-granddaughter, Grace Gayheart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence D. Adams; her daughters: Karen McCarthy and Maureen “Jann” Mitchell; and her sister, Mildred Carlisle Miller.

Locally many will remember her as a farmer and a teacher for Jackson City Schools. Although she went on to teach at the college level, she had a successful career as a Registered Dietitian until the age of 83; at which time she built and operated Hidden Trails Campground in Beaver, Ohio.
