A 1979 graduate of Wellston High School will be honored this year at the 123rd Annual Wellston Alumni banquet. The Wellston City Schools, in partnership with the Wellston High School Alumni Association, has announced the name of the recipient of the 2013 “Wall of Achievement” Award. This is the sixth year that graduates and community leaders from the Wellston School District have been honored.
Wellston City School Superintendent Karen Boch announced that this year’s honoree is Dr. Nancy Landrum. Nancy Landrum is currently an Associate Professor of Business Management at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Visiting Scholar at Umwelt-Campus Birkenfeld in Birkenfeld Germany. Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at Marshall University and then her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology also at Marshall University. In 1996 she also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Idaho State University. After receiving her Ph.D. in Business Administration at New Mexico State University in 2000, her work and research in strategic business management has been published more than twenty times. Nancy’s scholarly achievements led her to receive the prestigious Harper W. Boyd, Jr. Professor of Excellence Award. Dr. Landrum was also recognized by the Arkansas Business Publishing Group as the 2011 Arkansas Eco-Hero. Because of her lifelong commitment to improving the lives of abused and neglected children, Dr. Landrum was recognized by the Congressional Coalition on Adoptive Institute in Washington D.C. as a national “Angel in Adoption.”
Dr. Nancy Landrum currently resides in Sherwood Arkansas.
Wellston High School Alumni President John Pelletier stated that the Alumni Association is honored that Dr. Nancy Landrum’s induction into the 2013 Class of the Wall of Achievement will take place at the Annual Wellston High School Alumni Banquet.
The 123rd Annual Wellston High School Alumni Banquet and catered reception will be Saturday May 25 at the Wellston Middle School. The social hour begins at 5 p.m. and the banquet at 6 p.m. Tickets are available at Brodigan’s on Ohio Avenue in Wellston. The cost is $20.
