Dorothy Dalton

Dorothy Dalton, age 93, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018 at Jenkins Care Community in Wellston. She was born Dec. 12, 1924 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Harry C. Shelton and Lenna C. Myers Shelton.

Dorothy was a 1942 graduate of Wellston High School. She was a former employee of the Omar Bakery and Kuppenheimer Manufacturing in Wellston. Dorothy was also the owner and operator, along with her husband, Don, of Dalton’s Confectionary in Wellston for many years. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Wellston.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Elaine Perry (Randy) of Jackson, Lu Ann Dalton of Jackson and Donald Dalton II (Angie) of South Point; grandchildren, Ryan Perry (Brooke), Erica Dalton and Sara Dalton; great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Duncan, Brayden Gilmore, Alexis Perry, Tanner McClaskey and Olivia Exline; step-grandchildren, Hannah Roberts and Jenna Roberts; and sisters-in-law, Ardath Pierce Shelton of Worthington and Shirley Dalton Murdoch of McArthur.

Besides her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald A. Dalton in 2005; and her brother, Dan Shelton.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jerry Lung officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
