Doris Marie McGuire

On Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 at 12:45 p.m., Heaven gained another angel with the passing of Doris Marie (Miller) McGuire, at Four Winds Nursing Facility after an extended illness. Doris was born June 27, 1947 to the late William E. Miller, Sr. and Lectle Mae (Hinkley) Miller.

She married Donnie McGuire on Feb. 6, 1989 and resided in the Oak Hill area. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

Doris is survived by her husband, Donnie McGuire; her daughter and best friend, Michelle Tucker of Oak Hill, Ohio; son, Jake (Lora) Saunders, Jr. of Oak Hill, Ohio; and daughters, Dawn Rice of Maryland, Rhoda (Matt) Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Cassandra (Justin) Perkins of Morehead, Kentucky; grandchildren: Ashley Turner, Justin Tucker, and Tiffany Saunders, all of Oak Hill, Ohio, Rochelle (Nikole) Tucker of Jacksonville, Florida, Jessica Orzel and Charlie Rice, both of Kansas, Hayley Ratliff and Jordan Ratliff, both of Oak Hill, Ohio, Chase Boggs of Jackson, Ohio, Isabella Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio, Kolton Perkins, Dillon Perkins, and Trenton Perkins, all of Morehead, Kentucky; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty White of Jackson, Ohio and Judy (Norm) Adkins of New Albany, Ohio; sister-in-law, Vicky Miller; brother-in-law, Lonnie (Loretta) McGuire; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Katherine Brown; one brother, William E. “Ed” Miller, Jr.; one nephew, Carl Edward White; niece, Linda Lou Brunton; granddaughter, Kayla Musick; great-nephew, Michael Brown; and great-niece, Mary-Beth Brown.

Doris loved her family and spending time with each of them. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and would talk about them to anyone who would listen.

Services will be held on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with funeral services immediately following. Her nephews, Rev. Danny Brown and Pastor Steve Brown, will officiate. Final resting place will be at Horeb Cemetery in Oak Hill, Ohio.
