Doris Ann May, age 79, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014, at Edgewood Manor in Wellston. She was born January 19, 1935 in Orland, Ohio to the late Ed and Lucille White Pittman.

Doris Ann was a 1952 graduate of McArthur High School. She was former employee of McArthur Supply; former Treasurer for the Wellston City Schools; former member of the Wellston City Schools Board of Education; former secretary at JVAC Industries; former home care provider for Buckeye Community Services; former apartment manager for Gorsuch Management, and a member of the Wellston Church of the Nazarene and the American Legion Post 371 Ladies Auxilary. Doris Ann also enjoyed working with the Jackson County Secret Santa organization and the local Operation Christmas Child.

She is survived by her son, Paul May (Teresa Sturgill) of Wellston; her daughter, Julia Hanson (Ryan) of Jackson; grandson, Coy Hanson; brother, Jerry Pittman of New Plymouth; sisters, Alice Stump of New Plymouth and Norma Jean McCann of Columbus, as well as several nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents, Doris Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Cloyce E. May in 1985; son, James “Jimmy” May; infant sister, Clarabelle Pittman; sister, Virginia Horner, and brothers, Harold Pittman and Charles “Frank” Pittman.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Griffith officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
