Donald F. Henry, Sr.

Donald F. Henry, Sr., age 75, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018 at his home. He was born April 29, 1942 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Charles Willard Henry and Florence Deal Henry.

Donald was a graduate of Wellston High School and a veteran of the United States Navy, who served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following 30 years of service, Donald retired from CSX Railroad, where he was employed as a bridge and building foreman. Donald was a member of the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston, V.F.W. Post 9092 of Wellston and the Jackson County AmVets.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Della Mae Stoneburner Henry; children, Tracy Dupree (Dennis) of Wellston, Donald F. Henry, Jr. of Circleville, Shannon L. Henry of Wellston and Suzie Nichols of Wellston; grandchildren, Sara Vickers (Chuck), Kaylin Henry and Brad Henry; great-grandchildren, Cody Hatfield and Madison Hatfield; step-grandsons, Todd, Randy, Chris and Aaron Dupree; brothers, Richard Henry of Wellston, Herb Henry of Washington C.H., and John Henry of Jackson; sister, Dorothy Hall of Creola; along with several step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brothers, Bud, Fred, and Ed Henry.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
