Corena Fay (Lovejoy) Stowers

Corena Fay (Lovejoy) Stowers, of Hamlin, West Virginia, was born on Oct. 22, 1932 and died Monday, Dec. 30, 2019 at the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston, Ohio under the care of Hospice.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Hallie and Esta (Hill) Lovejoy; her husband of 64 years, Dorsel Stowers; a sister and a brother.  She is survived by three daughters; Sally (Kyle) Mishne of Athens, OH, Margaret Mlot of Hamlin, WV, and Dorothy Stowers of Los Angeles, CA; one grandson, Byron (Penny) Roberts, and two great-grandchildren, Aspen and Tucker Roberts of Wellston, Ohio.  She also had devoted nephews and a devoted niece, Tom (Marcella) Stowers of Hamlin, WV, David Vanover, of Manassas, VA, and Gail Trujillo of Fredericksburg, VA; and in addition a devoted great-niece, Tracy Trujillo of Fredericksburg, VA.

She was co-owner and manager of various real estate and farm investment properties in both Ohio and West Virginia, as well as being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  In her spare time, she had a lifelong love of reading English literature, poetry, and gardening.

A private service and burial were to take place Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston, Ohio.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you plant a tree in honor of Corena at a location of your choice.  McWilliams Funeral Home, Wellston, Ohio, is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.mcwilliams-funeralhome.com
