Collette “Jan” McClaskey, age 67, of Oak Hill, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Mt. Carmel East in Columbus. She was born Jan. 28, 1952 in Oak Hill to Charlotte (Williams) McCorkle and the late Homer McCorkle.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 30 years, Mark McClaskey, of Oak Hill; sister, Rhonda (Tod) Raney, of Bradenton, Florida; two nephews, Ian Edward Taylor and Jessup Taylor, of Florida and several other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Jan graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1969. She went to Morehead University in Kentucky and graduated with a Masters degree in Microbiology. She worked as a special education teacher at Buckeye Hills for 12 years. She then moved to Oakview Elementary and retired as a special education teacher.
