Charles William “Chuck” Keplar, age 62, of Coalton, passed away Friday morning, March 23, 2018, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born May 3, 1955 in Orville, Ohio to the late Charles M. Keplar and Jennie North Keplar.

Chuck was a former construction worker who worked as a journeyman lineman for IBEW Local #71, as well as several other power companies over the years. He was a loving and dedicated husband, dad and grandpa, who worked hard all of his life to provide for his family. His family always came first in his life and his family was blessed to have him in their lives.

Chuck was one of the strongest men known. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and hunting with his son, but most of all, Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved going to demolition derbies, golf cart riding, and just about anything that made his grandson, his buddy, Tristen happy. Together, those two shared a special bond.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dolly Ann DePue Keplar; children, Barbara Swisher (Shane) of Oak Hill, Lisa Bowling (Dave) of Wellston, Charles Robert “Robbie” Keplar (Paula) of Wellston and Patricia Keplar (Boo Riegel) of Wellston; grandchildren, Gabby, Chelsea, Kyle, Kelsey, Shelby, Madison, Ashley, Mark, Kiley, Layne, Tristen and Lexie; sisters, Linda Young (John) of Lancaster and Rita Clemons of Wellston, along with several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Alex; and sisters, Rose Marie Storms and Mary Ann Storms.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Benson officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Cemetery in McArthur.
