Charles C. Marquis, 84, passed away peacefully at his home in Wellston on Oct. 4, 2017. He was born in Jackson on Nov. 5, 1932, son of the late Charles Z. Marquis and Barnetta Clark Marquis. He was employed as a construction worker, having helped build the Atomic Plant in the early 1950’s. He later was a coal trucker. In his spare time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ann Simms and Donna Clark.
He is survived by his nephew and caregiver, Thomas D. Clark (Jere) of Wellston; a sister, Alice Spearry, of Wellston; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A graveside burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston.
