Betty Jean West

Betty Jean West, 69, of Wellston, Ohio, went home to meet her Lord unexpectedly on Thursday morning, July 31, 2014, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

She was born in Wellston on September 3, 1944, the daughter of the late Harold Leroy West and Helen Bartlett West.

She was a former dietary aide at St. John’s Nursing Home in Springfield, Ohio. She was a member of the Freedom Chapel of Wellston.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David Wayne West and Larry E. DeWitt.

Surviving are a son, Michael West, of Wellston; a daughter, Judith Gail (Roy Young III) Young of Illeshiem, Germany; two brothers, Jim West of Wellston and William (Linda) West of Xenia, Ohio; two sisters, Barbara Ferryman of Springfield, Ohio, and Peggy (David) Stratton of Bradenton, Florida; two grandchildren, Cori Wiant and Thomas Stewart; and two great grandchildren, David and Cole Wiant.

The family invites friends to call at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Thursday, August 7 at 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.

Reverend Radford Perry will officiate the services with Betty’s burial to follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

The family has requested that monetary contributions would be greatly appreciated in Betty’s memory and sent in care of James Howard West, P.O. Box 752, Wellston, Ohio 45692.
