Benny Lee Hutchison

Benny Lee Hutchison, age 57, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at his home. He was born August 31, 1957 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Ben Jr. and Iva Lou (Simpson) Hutchison.

Benny was a 1975 graduate of Jackson High School, and was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a retired supervisor from Bellisio Foods, and a former volunteer firefighter both in Dade County, Florida and Jackson County, Ohio. He attended Victory Chapel Church and was a friend and driver for the Amish Community. He loved fishing, camping, and the Cincinnati Reds. He had a loving heart towards children; this love was shown by being a foster parent for Synergy Family Foster Care. He also had a special place in his heart for animals; especially his dogs, Rocky, Reba, and Leigh Ann, and his cats. He was a loving and giving man who was always available to help a friend in need. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

On January 26, 2002 he was united in marriage to Marsha (Reffett) Hutchison, the love of his life who survives him. In addition, he is survived by sons, Kenneth Hutchison and Ben Hutchison, both of Jackson; children, Andrea Phouthavong of Obetz, Ohio, and Joshua Erickson and Thomas Coffey of Wellston, Ohio; brother, Dennis (Kathy) Hutchison of Alabama; sister, Cathy (Dave) Denney of Jackson, Ohio; grandchildren, Peyton Lackey, Trinity Erickson, Kami, Nom, and Mya Phouthavong, and Schylar Phouthavong; special nieces and nephew, Melissa (Gary) Trustle, Samantha (Keith) Beatty, and Billy Erickson; mother of his sons, Brenda Hutchison; as well as a host of special in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant son, Benjamin Hutchison; sister, Susan Hutchison; and a brother, Jerry “Pete” Hutchison.

A funeral service will be held at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Barry Exline officiating.
