B. Viola Hood, age 68, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2014 at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio, on July 17, 1945 to the late Oscar Wheeler Sr. and Margaret Wheeler Winningman. She was also preceded in death by husband, Ralph Hood; brothers, Carl Wheeler and Oscar Wheeler Jr. and a sister, Hester Hilderbrand.
She is survived by daughter, Angela Compston; a very special nephew, Jeff Dever; three sisters, Adeline (William) Dever, Mildred Bolen and Elvarie (Jim) Rose; and several nieces and nephews.
She was an animal lover and enjoyed bird watching.
No calling hours will be observed and funeral service will be held graveside at Fairmount Cemetery Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jack Hughes officiating.
