Anna Jane Vaughn

By | December 31, 2019

Anna Jane Vaughn, age 94, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away at home into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 28, 2019 after a long siege with Alzheimer’s. Jane, as she was known to her family and friends, was born on Aug. 14, 1925 in Wellston, Ohio to the late William Robert and Myrtle Bell (Cecil) Radcliff.

She graduated from Wellston High School in 1943. She married the love of her life, Donald Vaughn on Dec. 24, 1944 and celebrated 75 years together on Dec. 24, 2019. They moved to Columbus, Ohio where they raised their two daughters, Phyllis and Janet. After retiring they returned to Jackson County to live. While in Columbus she attended the Fourth Avenue Church of God and has membership at the Four Mile Christian Church. Jane always had a smile, never raised her voice in anger, but could always be heard humming a tune. She was a loving, kind, unselfish lady. Although Alzheimer’s robbed her body, it never took away her kindness. She always put her family’s needs above her own.

Jane delighted in her family and was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was more than a homemaker, she worked in service to God through such acts as caring many years for her mother, to always being there for her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. Jane was always busy and only seemed to sit down when she worked on her hobbies of jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She is missed dearly by her family, but she has left behind the example of love she taught and the desire that all her family will receive Jesus as Savior and someday be together at Heaven’s Gate.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 75 years, Donald Vaughn; daughters, Phyllis (Douglas) Rose and Janet (Windell) Rose; grandchildren: Christopher (Cindy) Rose, Laura (Chris) Armstrong, Isaac Daniel (Corinne) Rose, Donald (Jenna) Rose, Myra (Benjamin) Mathews; great-grandchildren: Erin Rose, Brynn Rose, Stephanie (Chris) Kiebler, Bethany Armstrong, Carmella Armstrong, Jonah Armstrong, Isaac Gabriel Rose, Landon Rose, Emma Rose, Adeline Rose, Parker Rose, Matthew Rose, and Corban Mathews; as well as several nieces and nephews; and special healthcare providers, Jessi from National Church Services Hospice and dear physician, Dr. Tonia Ash.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nelvie Whiting; and brothers: Howard Radcliff, Herbert “Olen” Radcliff, George “Shave” Radcliff, and William Radcliff.
