Ada (Criner) Sickles

Ada (Criner) Sickles, age 82, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born October 5, 1930 in Oak Hill, the daughter of Hazel (Rainer) and William Criner. She worked at Robins and Myers for 34 years and after retiring, she enjoyed spending time with and caring for her pets. Ada was known for her kindness and generosity.

Ada is survived by her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Sickles of Springfield; sister, Phyllis Criner of Oak Hill; nieces and nephews, Sharon and Jeff Ballard of Springfield, Steve Criner, Donald Criner Jr., Vicky Fisher, Shirley Criner, Larry Stewart, Rita Fulk, Cathy Reed, Mike Carter, Ricky Carter, Dennis Carter, Donna Smith, Linda Brown, Roger Johnson and Bobby Johnson, all of Oak Hill; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Criner, Frank Criner and Paul Dearth; and four sisters, Francis Carter, Betty Johnson, Helen Blankenship and Mary Ryder.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill, Ohio. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the funeral home.
