Barry L. Houser, age 67, passed away on June 23, 2015 at SOMC following complications from abdominal surgery.
Mr. Houser was born in Jackson, Ohio on October 10th, 1947 the son of the late Ralph “Rusty” and Juanita Houser. He graduated from High school with the class of 1965, earned certification as a draftsman from the Manpower Training Center and completed a successful 32 year career as a draftsman with the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Barry was known as a kind and generous man who enjoyed music, including singing at church and social events at the VFW Post 8402 in Jackson
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna R. (Carter) Houser; his son, Drew T. Houser; and a sister, Robin Salyers.
Barry is survived by Rhinda L. Labella, with whom he had a special relationship; as well as close friends, Wesley Bryant, Betsy and Ora Crabtree, Kathy Fugett, and numerous other loving friends and acquaintances.
Following cremation, a graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 1 PM at Fairmont Cemetery with Dr. Lynn L. Boothe officiating. The service is open to the public.
