Barbara Jane (Scalf) Crabtree, age 68, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 after battling Parkinson’s for 16 years. She was born November 25, 1946 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to Roland and Geneva (Smith) Scalf, who preceded her in death, as did one brother, Frank Scalf.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Crabtree of Jackson, Ohio; one son, Carlos Harris of Lexington, Kentucky; one step-son, Shane Crabtree of Jackson, Ohio; and two step-grandchildren, Austin and Reagan Crabtree of Jackson, Ohio; one sister, Rosa Lee Pack of Paintsville, Kentucky; one aunt, Mary Gearhart of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; and one sister-in-law, Diane Scalf of Huntsville, Alabama.
She married Tim Crabtree on May 26, 1992. They enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and many other recreational activities. She was extremely compassionate and vibrant, and loved by anyone that met her. She will truly be missed.
Barbara was a member of the Eifort Free Will Baptist Church of South Webster, Ohio.
Friends and family may call at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev.
