Samuel “Sammy” Bevard, Jr.

Samuel “Sammy” Bevard, Jr., age 45, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the Mt. Carmel Hospital West in Columbus, Ohio. He was born May 27, 1969 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Samuel Bevard, Sr. and Ruth Ann Jarvis Bevard.

Sammy was a 1987 graduate of Wellston High School and was a Union brick layer. He enjoyed baseball, football, fishing, riding his bike and spending time with his granddaughters and great-niece.

Sammy is survived by his mother and step-father, Ruth Ann and Frank Leach of Wellston; daughters, Misti Dawn Waugh of Canal Winchester, Brittany Sturgill of Jackson and Kayla Floyd of Wellston; grandchildren, Alexis Dillinger, Chase Harris and Rayleen Floyd; sisters, Tracey Bevard (Jerry Carey) of Wellston and Karen Floyd (Darrell Romine) of Wellston, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special uncle, Calvin Lambert; special nephew, Mikel Floyd; special great-niece, Brenlei Floyd and special friend, Wayne Orender.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Eileen Bevard and Nelson and Josephine Jarvis.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating.
