Lillie (Louise) Elkins, age 87, of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. She was born in Jackson on October 6, 1926 to the late Everett Dixon and Iva Bell (Duhl) Dixon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Elkins; a son, Jed Elkins; five brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Rose) Elkins, Joe Elkins, Lynnie (Jonette) Elkins, Mardy Elkins, Suzanne (Doug) Fannin, Veda (Paul) Channell and Donna (Carson) Baker, all of Jackson; one sister, Mildred (Millie) Oiler, of Jackson; 21 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Louise was a homemaker and a member of the Victory Chapel Church.
Calling hours will be from 12 to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 2 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Dobie Wyant officiating. Burial will follow at Rice Cemetery, Lick Township, Jackson County, Ohio.
