Mary Katherine Ervin, age 87, of Wellston, went to be with her Lord early Friday morning, September 19, 2014 from the Edgewood Manor Nursing Facility in Wellston, Ohio. She was born June 20, 1927 in Wellston, Ohio to the late William “Bill” Gentry and Margaret Walton Gentry.
Katherine was a former employee of the Pants Factory in Wellston, as well as being a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the World Outreach Ministries. Katherine was an active Christian in her community for more than 60 years and was known as a prayer warrior by many people in the community and beyond. She touched many lives throughout her dedicated life. Bless His name.
She is survived by her children, Donna Coen (Kenny) of Albany, Robert G. Ervin, Jr. (Karen) of Wellston, Melvin Ervin (Andrea) of Wellston, Kathy O’Bryan (Tim) of Wellston, Tim Ervin (Vanessa) of Wellston, Rita Ervin of Cincinnati and Troy Ervin (Mandy) of Williamsburg, Oh.; sister, Evelyn Woods of Columbus, as well as 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Ervin, Sr. on December 31, 1984; five sisters and one brother. Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the World Outreach Ministries with Pastor Troy Ervin and Pastor Rob Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
